Rock River Dome Co’s climbing domes look so fun. Crimpy Jug had to talk to Founder Marisa to find out what drives her.
“I started Rock River Dome Co. because I wanted something that didn’t exist—a bouldering cave you could set up almost anywhere. A space where people of all backgrounds could train hard, have fun, and feel completely free to be themselves.
I wanted to build something for myself and my community that captured all the best parts of the climbing world: support, joy, and a little wildness. A mini-gym for any community.

The domes blend with in with nature, at home in the sunset.
Honestly, I wanted to recreate the feeling of when my mom hosted Mexican food feasts—everyone welcome, everyone fed, everyone home.
Our domes are precision-milled in the U.S. and built to handle real bouldering. But they’re more than just functional—they’re meant to feel like they belong, whether in your backyard or at the heart of a hangout. A space that says: you can be powerful and playful at the same time.

From day one, fun was at the core. Training doesn’t have to be rigid or exclusive. I built these domes for climbers who want to feel strong, supported, and connected.
What started as a single dome has grown into a budding community of folks who value movement, laughter, and showing up as they are. Whether you're projecting a new climb or throwing a dance party under the stars, the dome is your space to grow.
Rock River Dome Co. is more than a product—it’s a movement. For inclusive, feminine spaces where sustainable strength can thrive. Come see what we’re building.”

About Marisa, the founder of RRDC:
I’ve been climbing for 13 years. Now at 28, I split time between the crag and running Rock River Dome Co. I came to Wyoming for school, stayed for the rock, and learned to weld—thanks to Bill—so I could build the first dome and create something lasting for the climbing community.
